The Story

Move With Love found me. It found me when my days were the darkest they'd ever been. It found me when I lost my everything, past, present and future. Just after feeling like I finally had all the pieces in my life exactly where I wanted them, the world I was now waking up to felt like a nightmare. I didn't know what to do and none of the tools I had spent years learning to wield were working in this foreign territory. I knew what had brought me joy and healing in the past; taking yoga, teaching yoga, being with love ones. None of it felt like the right fit anymore, it felt as though my light had been snuffed out.

One day while running errands, I found myself in Michael's art supply store, not knowing what to expect; I picked up a set of wood block stamps and an ink pad, and started one letter at a time. M. O. V. E. W. I. T. H. L. O. V. E. I repeated the process AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. It was painful, but it was meditative. Letter by letter, I became a little calmer, the dark wasn't so dark, and I became stronger.

With the newfound strength I found through MWL, I decided to quite literally put it into practice. I traveled solo and left the life I had known. Eventually, It brought me back to New York where I decided to recreate my life on my own terms. I enrolled in a silkscreen studio in Brooklyn and learned a new craft. I was becoming an artist again in ways I never dreamed. Now Move With Love wasn't just on repeat with my stamps or my handwriting, it was the repetition of ink on t-shirts, tote bags, baby onesies, prints, or all over my skin. I wasn't sure what I would do with all of them, I never imagined selling them. I just knew this is what I needed to create. So I put myself out there. I chose Hope. I chose Love. I chose to Move With Love again and again and again.

Holly “Bird” Colino

Holly has been in love with movement her entire life. Her initial steps began with “funk dance” on 4-wheeled roller skates to C & C Music Factory. After she retired her slick electric slide, Holly received a BFA in Modern dance. Big dreams and dance brought her to New York City. The tough world of dance, yes tough, lead her to yoga. It was in the safety of yoga that she was able to find glorious, feel good about yourself, breath based movement. In 2009, Holly received her 200 RYS training in Vinyasa from Yoga to the People. In 2019, Holly completed her 300 RYS training from Laughing Lotus NYC. Holly has been teaching Yoga full time for 9 years and counting, with over 8000 hours of teaching experience. She is big lover of boney anatomy, where she studied Embodied anatomy and kinesiology under Amy Matthews for four years at the breathing project. Holly is Certified by the New York Board of Education in Applied Positive Psychology, as well as, a 50 hour Hatha training with The Studio (Katonah yoga), a 30 Hour with Matt phippen and a 30 hour Trauma TT with Liberation Prison Yoga. Currently, Holly teaches for Tangerine Yoga in Downtown Brooklyn, Jewel City Yoga in Crown Heights, and Heatwise in Brooklyn Heights/park slope. Her classes are filled with just the right touch of love, levity, spirituality and Philly sass. She is inspired by the world around and the world within. Her creative, alignment-based, and themed sequences can revolve around myriad points of inspiration from a painting in the Guggenheim to an ancient yogic text. Holly empowers her students to love the body they live in one breath at a time and to always trust their own inner teacher.

**Holly is available for Group classes, corporate, and private clients. <3
